Grandma's Family Games help young children become familiar with family members (even far-away relatives) while practicing their computer skills. Three games are included. Here's Grandma!
Babies and toddlers see a new family member each time they press a key. The person's picture appears,
and the name is spoken.
Skills used: Pressing a key, watching, listening
Suggested ages: 1 - 2 years old
Where's Grandma?
The child selects the correct person from two that are shown. With large targets and a large arrow,
this game is ideal for teaching a child to move and click the mouse.
Skills used: Listening, following directions, using the mouse
Suggested ages: 3 - 4 years old
Grandma is Hiding
Three family members are shown and then hidden. The child must remember the location of the requested
family member and click on the correct person.
Skills used: Remembering, using the mouse
Suggested ages: 4 years old and up
More information:
- Each family (group of siblings) needs its own website.
- Each website is hosted in a private directory at grandmamouse.net and includes all three games.
- The games are Java Applets (like the games on most popular game websites) and can be played on any computer with Internet access and a fairly new version of Java.
- These games are ad-free unlike most online games for children.
